Vintages : 2017 and 2018

The estate was bought in 1975 by Bernard Manera. Over the years, with the support of his wife Martine, the winegrower has enhanced his estate by acquiring vines to be restored. In less than 25 years, through restructuration, Bernard Manera has renovated a farm of more than 70 hectares of vines, with an average age of 20 years and spread over four communes. The property covers several terroirs and this diversity brings a certain complexity to its wines. In 2002, he began marketing bottled wines and entrusted this task to his daughter, Mylène, who holds a Brevet de Technicien Supérieur in Viticulture and Œnology. His son, Marc, takes care of the production part of the business after obtaining his Professional Bac in Viticulture. That same year, Bernard Manera embarked on a new vine growing policy. Finally, in 2004, the desire to go further in the process led the farm to obtain the qualification of “agriculture raisonnée” (sustainable agriculture), which is controlled by Qualité France. This qualification is recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The opinion of our oenologists

Robe : Red with ruby hues.
Nose : Fruity, with blackberry and blackcurrant aromas.
Taste : Well-balanced and silky tannins, we can notice the same black fruit aromas as on the nose, with a good length in the mouth.

The Bordeaux Supérieur appellation

The Bordeaux Supérieur appellation extends over an area of 10,000 ha where we find very varied terroirs with limestone, clay-limestone, sandy or even gravel and boulbène soils. The vines are mainly planted with red grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and minority varieties such as Petit Verdot, Malbec or Carmenère. Bordeaux Supérieur whites are sweet wines composed mainly of Sauvignon Blanc & Gris, Sémillon and Muscadelle. The ageing period for red and white wines is 3 to 5 years.
